COLOMBO (News 1st); Poultry producers have been summoned to the Consumer Affairs Authority (CAA) today (16).
This is due to the rising prices of eggs and chicken in the local market.
Minister of Trade, Commerce, and Food Security Nalin Fernando yesterday (15) said he has instructed the Consumer Affairs Authority (CAA) to provide a report, after inquiring into the price increases.
Currently, a price of an egg is sold for Rs.63/- while 1kg of chicken is being sold for over Rs.1500/- or more.
