Ratta released on bail in case filed for damaging public property

COLOMBO (News 1st); Sri Lankan YouTuber Rathindu Senaratne, also known as RATTA who was arrested on Monday (1) was granted bail on Tuesday (2).

Fort Magistrate Thilina Gamage ordered for the suspect to be released on a personal bail of Rs. 500,000/-.

YouTuber Rathindu Senaratne, also known as RATTA had visited the Colombo Crimes Division on Monday (1) evening to provide a voluntary statement over an incident surrounding Pathum Kerner who was previously arrested.

Counsel for Rathindu Senaratne said that an Officer from the Special Unit of the Slave Island Police visited the CCD and arrested Senaratne.

Counsel said that he was arrested over a case filed at the Fort Magistrate's Court.

Police Stated that the Colombo Central Crimes Division had arrested Rathindu Senarathna on charges of damaging public property during a protest at Bank of Ceylon Mawatha on the 21st of May.

Bail was granted to the suspect following submissions made by a group of lawyers led by President's Counsel Rienzie Arsecularatne.
