How will school be conducted next week?

COLOMBO (News 1st): The Ministry of Education has decided to conduct academic activities at Government and Government-approved private schools for three days a week, from tomorrow (01) until 5th of August.

Accordingly, schools will be held on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays.

The Ministry of Education says that on the other two days; Wednesday and Friday, learning activities can be conducted at home or as online teaching activities.

These decisions were taken during a meeting held under the chairmanship of the Minister of Education yesterday (30).

However school activities can continue on Wednesdays and Fridays, with the consent of principals and teachers and approval of the Zonal Education Director for schools with inadequate transport facilities.

Considering the conditions in the schools, a flexible schedule can be prepared so that every teacher can come to the school for at least three days and carry out teaching activities, the Ministry of Education added.

Meanwhile, the deadline for applications for the admission of children to the first grade in the year 2023 has been extended.

Accordingly, the Ministry of Education announced that applications can be submitted until August 15.
