Trains to limit speed on coastal belt

COLOMBO (News 1st); Sri Lanka Railways said that it has decided to limit the speed of trains operating along the coastal belt, especially in Koralawella.

Sri Lanka Railways (SLR) said the speed limit has been imposed due to coastal erosion in the area.

SLR noted that steps have been taken to prevent further coastal erosion area together with the Sri Lanka Coast Guard.
