COLOMBO (News 1st); Minster of Justice, Dr. Wijeyadasa Rajapakshe says that the procedure for the release of incarcerated former MP Ranjan Ramanayake has been initiated.

The Minister said that he has requested for all reports concerning Ramanayake from the Commissioner General of Prisons.

The Minister said that after studying the reports and discussing with the Attorney General, he will submit his recommendations regarding his release.

Afterwards, the Acting President will take a decision regarding Ramanayake’s release, the Minister added.
