COLOMBO (News 1st); Another suspect, who is an admin of a social media page, has been arrested by the Police for alleged involvement in violent incidents which took place on 9th May.

Accordingly, the Police Spokesperson SSP Nihal Thalduwa stated that the suspect, identified as a resident of Gampaha, has been arrested after it was revealed that the suspect attempted to gather people to incite violence on the date via his Facebook page.

The relevant suspect will be prosecuted under the Computer Crimes Act and other laws, he added.

The Computer Crimes Division has so far identified several suspects who aided inciting violence, and investigations with regard to identifying other suspects is underway, the Police Spokesperson stated.
