COLOMBO (News 1st); Three people had drowned while swimming in the Dambarawa Wewa in Mahiyanganaya on Wednesday (25).

According to Sri Lanka Police, the victims were two children aged 10 & 15 years, and a 45-year-old male, all from the same family.

They had gone to swim in the Dambarawa Wewa yesterday (25) afternoon and had NOT returned, thereafter the relatives had started to search for them.

The Police stated that the bodies of the father and the two children were found during a search conducted by the residents of the area and their clothes were found on the bank.

Mahiyanganaya Police are conducting further investigations, Police said.
