Education Secretaries to decide on school operations

COLOMBO (News 1st); Provincial Secretaries of Education have been given the authority to decide whether or not to open schools today (12).
A senior official of the Ministry of Education stated that according to the information received, schools in the Southern, Western, Central, Sabaragamuwa, and Eastern Provinces have been completely closed.
The Ministry of Education stated that the Provincial Secretary has been instructed to only open schools that are required to be opened, in the North Western Province.
In addition, steps will be taken to for schools in the Northern Province to function until 12 PM, the Northern Provincial Education Authority said.
