COLOMBO (News 1st); The Sri Lanka Police announced to the Occupy Galle Face protestors that violating the curfew conditions is an offense.
Using the PA system of the President’s Office, Sri Lanka Police made the following announcement.
“This is a notice by Sri Lanka Police. As per Section 2 of the Public Security Ordinance, a public emergency has been cleared in Sri Lanka with effect from 6th May. In addition, a curfew has been imposed from 9th May to 7 AM tomorrow (12). This Order directs that no person shall be on any public road, railway, public park, public recreation ground, or other public ground or the seashore in such areas, except under the authority of a written permit. Therefore acting in violation of the curfew conditions is an offense as per the law”
