COLOMBO (News 1st); Sri Lanka Police said that several roads close to Parliament will be closed for vehicular movement on Thursday (5) and Friday (6).
Accordingly, the roads leading to Parliament from Diyatha Uyana Junction to the Jayanthipura Junction, Jayanthipura Junction to the Keangnam round-about will be closed.
People living on those roads have been requested to show their proof of identity and residence to travel along those roads during this period.
Sri Lanka Police said the public protests organized on the days that parliamentary sittings are taking place, have posed an inconvenience to the MPs and Parliament staff, and such a decision was taken to ensure the smooth functions of the parliament.
Sri Lanka Police said that is apologizes for the inconvenience caused and requests that the public use alternative routes.
