COLOMBO (News 1st); Sri Lanka has already become a bankrupt state, said Opposition Leader Sajith Premadasa in Parliament on Wednesday (4).

He said the very MPs who applauded when tax cuts were awarded to the rich, are one again applauding for reasonable tax policies.

"Because of those decisions rating agencies downgraded us," he told the house.

He reiterated that the President, Prime Minister, and the government must resign for the crisis that has been created.
