Raw materials for industries via Indian Credit

COLOMBO (News 1st); The Ministry of Industry states that US $500 Mn has been allocated via Indian Credit for the importation of goods including raw materials required for local industries.

The Secretary to the Ministry of Industry, General (Retired) Daya Ratnayake, stated that the goods would be imported to the island expeditiously based on priority.

He also stated that priority will be given to the importation of raw materials for goods and equipment exported as finished goods.

Accordingly, the shortage of many essential raw materials required for the industries in the country will be eliminated within the next two weeks.
