MP water bills have accumulated to over Rs. 16Mn: NWS&DB

COLOMBO (News 1st); The National Water Supply and Drainage Board says that the current water bills of current and former Ministers and Parliamentarians have accumulated to over Rs. 16 million.

A spokesman for the NWS&DB stated that about 20 ministers and MPs who had failed to pay their water bills have passed away as well.

However, the National Water Supply and Drainage Board added that discussions have commenced to recover the arrears from the relevant Ministries as the responsibility of paying the water bills of the Ministers rests with the respective Ministries.
