Diesel Shipment delayed; Existing stocks to be released on Tuesday & Wednesday

COLOMBO (News 1st); The Sri Lankan Ministry of Energy stated that the ship carrying 38,000 MT of Diesel that was scheduled to arrive in the country on Monday (Feb 28), will be delayed by another two days, due to a delay in loading the fuel.

Sri Lanka's current stock of 37,500 MT of Diesel can only be released to the market only on Tuesday (March 1st) & Wednesday (March 2nd).

About 6000 MT of this Diesel has been given to the Ceylon Electricity Board and only 30,000 tons will be released for transport.

Meanwhile, the Ministry of Energy stated that petrol is being unloaded from 3500 MT that has arrived at the Port of Colombo.
