49th Session of UNHRC begins in Geneva today (28)

COLOMBO (News 1st): The 49th session of the United Nations Human Rights Council begins in Geneva on Monday (Feb. 28). The UNHRC session is scheduled to conclude on the 1st of April. The United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights will present a written update on Sri Lanka to the Council, and an interactive dialogue on Sri Lanka is scheduled on the 3rd of March. Minister of Foreign Affairs Prof. G. L. Peiris will lead the Sri Lankan delegation at the 49th Session of the UN Human Rights Council. During his visit, the Foreign Minister is set to meet with the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights.
