Govt assures of adequate medicine stocks for three months as paracetamol demand rises

COLOMBO (News 1st); The State Ministry of Pharmaceutical Production, Supply and Regulation states that Government hospitals currently possess sufficient stocks of drugs for the next three months.

Secretary to the State Ministry, Dr. Saman Ratnayake said that discussions will be held with several parties regarding the dollar crisis which has affected the importation of drugs to the private sector.

Meanwhile, companies have been advised to speed up the production of paracetamol, as the demand for paracetamol has increased.

The Secretary to the Ministry added that there is no need to purchase paracetamol in bulk.
