Diesel shortage affecting vegetable transports

COLOMBO (News 1st); The All Island Economic Centre Collective stated that the transportation of vegetables has been severely hampered due to the shortage of Diesel.

The chairman of the All Island Economic Centre Collective Aruna Shantha Hettiarachchi said that despite the supply of vegetables increasing, there was a decrease in the number of traders visiting Economic Centers to make purchases.

He also explained that due to the dry weather, Diesel Motors are used to irrigate crops and there is a serious crisis in the supply of Diesel.
