President instructs to fulfill nurses' demands

COLOMBO (News 1st); President Gotabaya Rajapaksa today instructed officials to provide approved solutions to the Nurses' issues in a manner that does not affect the entire public service.

The President issued this directive during a meeting with the Nurse's Trade Unions this morning.

Ven. Muruththettuwe Ananda Thero, the Chairperson of the Public Service United Nurses Union, and other Trade Union representatives were present for the meeting at the Presidential Secretariat.

During the meeting, several issues included the establishment of the Nursing University, promotion of Nursing Officers from Grade ll to Grade I with retrospective effect by backdating the promotion, providing Rs. 10,000 allowance, the issuance of the Uniform Allowance, were discussed.

The President's Media Division quoted the President as saying that when one group is provided with solutions, another group once again made demands.

President Gotabaya Rajapaksa further emphasized that it is important for everyone to understand that not all demands can be considered amid the current financial crisis.
