Police apprehends two treasure hunters

COLOMBO (News 1st); Police had arrested two treasure hunters after they attempted to dig at an archaeological site in hopes of finding antique items. 

Accordingly, members of the Police Special Tak Force apprehended the two suspects based on a tip-off received and subsequently handed them over to the Uvaparanagama Police. 

The two suspects have been identified as 23 and 24 year old residents of Puhulpola. 

They are due to be presented before Welimada Magistrate's Court on Saturday (12) while Uvaparanagama Police is conducting further investigations into the incident.
