Lack of funds to import fuel, issue will be resolved - Dilum

COLOMBO (News 1st); There is no need to hide the fact that the country does have funds to import fuel to the country, says State Minister of Transport, Dilum Amunugama.

Commenting on the prevailing electricity crisis, the State Minister also said that the relevant Subject Minister, along with the Ceylon Electricity Board and the Ceylon Petroleum Corporation will also resolve the issue soon.

Speaking further, the State Minister said that the main issue is the lack of funds for the importation of oil, and that there is no need to hide this from the people.

"However, we are managing the situation. The Ministry of Finance has formulated a program to recover from this crisis by April," the Minister said.
