Govt MPs must speak up for the sake of the people - Minister Amaraweera

COLOMBO (News 1st); Sri Lanka's Minister of Environment, Mahinda Amaraweera says, even though they themselves are members of the Government, it is their responsibility to speak up when the general public is ill-treated by the Government.

Speaking at an event held on Monday (10) in Colombo, Amaraweera said, that they shed light on the issues at the Cabinet and they are being held accountable by the party faithful as they are compelled to answer them on the burning issues of the country.

'' We're not trying to leave the Government. But neither are we adamant to stay. Our objective is to strengthen the SLFP and establish a Government that is sensitive to the people's needs'', Minister Mahinda Amaraweera ended his remarks.
