Sri Lanka is country that begs, says Chameera Perera

COLOMBO (News 1st); Convener of the United Citizens' Front Chameera Perera says that by now Sri Lanka has been transformed into a Nation which begs.

Speaking to media, Perera stated that the Government continues to go all over the world to obtain loans, and it can be seen that the Finance Minister Basil Rajapaksa is also traveling around the world to obtain loans. 

Moreover, Perera pointed out that by now, Sri Lanka has considered obtaining loans from both Bangladesh and India, and has transformed itself into a country which begs 

"By now Sri Lanka has been turned into a begging country. Although we did it the best, now we just go all over the world to get loans," he said. 

Furthermore, Perera said that the Government keeps on making patriotic arguments when inquired whether they are going to the IMF, and refuses to do so, not because Sri Lankans are suffering,  but because the Rajapaksa political elite could not bear the IMF serious conditions.
