JAFFNA (News 1st); A harmless hobby of flying kites turned ugly for a group of youth in Jaffna, when a kite also dragged away a young man.

Video obtained by News 1st showed the young man hanging on to the rope while winds carried away the kite.

The incident is reported to have taken place in Point Pedro, the northernmost part of Sri Lanka situated in the Jaffna peninsula.

The dramatic episode, which was caught on camera, is going viral on social media.

According to the video, a highly strong wind condition can be noticed which is common in the peninsula.

A young man was seen letting go of the rope with an effort to fall safely on the ground, however, he sustained minor injuries.
