COLOMBO (News 1st); 17 people were reported injured when a bus veered off the road in Padiyathalawa and fell into a precipice.

According to reports the bus was traveling from Kilinochchi to Kataragama with a group of pilgrims.

The accident had taken place at 2 AM on Sunday (19) and there were approximately 45 people in the bus at the time accident.

News 1st correspondent at the scene reported that 4 of the injured were admitted to the Batticaloa Hospital for further treatment, while the rest remain at the Maha Oya Hospital.
