COLOMBO (News 1st): The Public Inspectors Union of Sri Lanka on Saturday urged the people to pay special attention to COVID-19 health guidelines, during the upcoming festive season.
Whilst pointing out that there is a considerable increase in the rate of COVID-19 patients in the country, Upul Rohana, the President of PHI Union emphasized that if the people fail to act responsibly, adhering to the health guidelines during the festive season, there is a risk of resurgence of the virus, like in December 2020 and last April.
"One must NOT engage in unnecessary travel and only one member of the family should visit outdoors to purchase essential goods and obtain essential services," the PHI Union President noted.
He also requested the people NOT to spend time unnecessarily at crowded places and to avoid exposing children and the elderly to such locations.
