Relief package should be Govt priority: MP Marikkar

COLOMBO (News 1st): Granting a relief package should be the priority of the Government, says Samagi Jana Balawega MP S.M. Marikkar.

Expressing his views to the media after a program held in Colombo today (05), MP S.M. Marikkar stated that the Government needs to speak to lending institutions and rearrange their loans. 

The MP, speaking further, stated that those lending institutions will undoubtedly seek whether the Government's stance and the situation of democracy, freedom of the press, respect for human rights and the rule of law in the country. 

Additionally, the MP stated that as soon as democracy is established, Ari Lanka should go to the European Union and the Asian Development Bank find means to grant a relief package to the people by obtaining loans at a very low interest rate.
