COLOMBO (News 1st); Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB) MP Ashok Abeysinghe says that there is a conspiracy behind the gas crisis in the country during a media briefing in Kurunegala today (05).

Speaking during the media briefing, Abeysinghe said that Litro Gas provides 70% of Gas supply to the Sri Lankan Market whilst the Private sector only provides 30%.

Furthermore, Abeysinghe said that he was informed that the Government is planning on allowing a third party to enter the market and the Gas crisis was staged to create a demand for that competitor.

Speaking further, he said that this new Gas company is to be formed along with a few members of the ruling party, and added that they are attempting to tap into Litro’s 70% market share, if not wipe off Litro completely.

” This is what the Government is trying to do. This is a conspiracy by the Government,” he added.
