COLOMBO (News 1st): A crocodile had walked into the Sampur Police Station on Sunday (29).

Police officers scrambled to ensure that the people were not harmed and the crocodile was captured and released to the wild.

With the assistance of the Trincomalee Wild Life Office rangers, the crocodile was captured and released to the Upparu Lagoon.

Wildlife officers believe the crocodile may have come from the water body located close to the Police station in search of food.
