COLOMBO (News 1st); Sri Lankan State Minister Roshan Ranasinghe revealed that every Local Government Member in the country, irrespective of their party affiliation, will be awarded Rs. 4 Million for their electorates.

“As per the instructions of the President and the Prime Minister, the Finance Minister will provide Rs. 4 Mn for each Local Government Member,” he told Parliament.

The State Minister went on to note that when they were elected to Parliament back in 2010, one member only received Rs. 5 Mn, and today, every local government member will be awarded an equal amount to serve the public.
