Imported nadu rice priced at Rs. 98/-, to be sold from today

COLOMBO (News 1st); Retired Rear Admiral Ananda Peiris, Chairman of the Lanka Sathosa states that Nadu rice imported from India will be released to the market at Rs. 98 per kilogram from today (29).

The Chairman stated that 9 containers of Nadu rice have been received after the customs clearance.

He further stated that this will further expand the process of selling rice to consumers at reasonable prices.

Meanwhile, 81 sugar containers at the Colombo Port have been released to Lanka Sathosa.

He stated that the stocks of sugar will also be distributed to the public through Sathosa branches at the Government controlled price.
