COLOMBO (News 1st); Teachers and Principals who are staging a satyagraha campaign at the Agitation Site close to the Presidential Secretariat were faced with police confrontation again, on Wednesday (27).

Tenses scenes were witnessed when police officers, including senior brass, attempted to remove the protestors from the premises.

The Teacher Principal Trade Union collective commenced this satyagraha campaign on Tuesday (26) demanding a solution to the salary anomaly issue.

General Secretary of the Government Teachers Association, Shehan Dissanayake stated that police personnel barged in on their protest and attempted to suppress the voice of the teachers.
