COLOMBO (News 1st); The water levels of several rivers have risen due to the pertaining showery condition.
News 1st staff correspondent also reported that the water level of the river flowing through the Hewaheta Muloya area in Hanguranketha had risen due to heavy rain which fell in the are for about two hours yesterday (22) afternoon.
Meanwhile, the Department of Meteorology says showers or thundershowers are likely over most parts of the island after 1:00 p.m. today (23).
Fairly heavy showers exceeding 75mm could be expected at some places in the Central, Sabaragamuwa, Uva and North-Central Provinces.
The general public has been requested to take adequate precautions.
