COLOMBO (News 1st) - Reconstruction of several bridges destroyed by Cyclone Ditwah will begin today.
Director General of the Ministry of Transport and Highways, Bandara Rathnayake, said reconstruction work on nine of the 14 bridges completely destroyed by the cyclone will commence today under the first phase of the project.
A sum of 3.95 billion rupees has been received as Chinese assistance to fund bridge reconstruction work under the first phase.
