COLOMBO (News 1st): The Commissioner General of Essential Services, Maj. Gen. Senarath Nivunhella states that with the issuance of emergency regulations for the provision of essential food items at reasonable prices, the consumer goods seized by the Government will be handed over to wholesalers and retailers as soon as possible.
The Commissioner General of Essential Services stated that the consumer goods will be distributed to wholesalers at the current control prices.
He also mentioned that the Secretary to the Ministry of Trade has been instructed to personally supervise the process.
In addition, steps have been taken to obtain lists of wholesalers through District Secretaries.
