Monitoring MPs, another waste of Public Funds - Opposition Leader

COLOMBO (News 1st); Opposition Leader Sajith Premadasa says the government is wasting public wealth by appointing MPs to oversee development activities.

He said that if there is any genuine concern for the people, what the government should do is not to nurture and develop their Members but to protect the lives of the people.

Pointing out that the government is doing everything to grant all privileges to government Members, he said that, it is not prepared to provide any relief to people.

He added that the government should keep in mind that it is engaged in all these acts, at the expense of taxpayers.

Hospital equipment worth three million and ninety thousand rupees (Rs. 3,090,000.00) were donated to Dr. Y.J.Samarasinghe, Director of Teaching Hospital, Kegalle as the 25th step of “Jana Suwaya” social hospitality program launched by Leader of the Opposition Sajith Premadasa parallel to “Vipakshayen Husmak” program.

Accordingly, two Multipara Monitors (Edan) worth five hundred thousand rupees (Rs. 500,000.00), an Optiflow Nasal Therapy machine worth one million two hundred and forty thousand rupees (Rs. 1,2 40,000.00), and an Optiflow Nasal Therapy machine worth one million three hundred and fifty thousand rupees (Rs. 1,350,000.00) (as donations from Australia Melbourne Art Circle) were donated.
