COLOMBO (News 1st): The Director General of Health Services, Dr. Asela Gunawardena says that a decision to extend the lockdown or not will be taken on Friday (27).
Dr. Gunawardena said that the COVID-19 Presidential Task Force will meet tomorrow to decide whether to extend the curfew based on the number of patients and deaths reported.
Meanwhile, the Director General of Health Services added that those over 30 years of age are expected to be completely vaccinated by mid-September while the vaccination for those in the 18-30 age group will be launched as soon as the former group is fully vaccinated.
The total number of COVID-19 deaths in Sri Lanka rose to 7,948.
