People of the country have to make sacrifices as a Nation: Trade Minister

COLOMBO (News 1st): Trade Minister Bandula Gunawardena says that whenever a country is in a difficult situation, the people of that country have to make sacrifices as a Nation.

The Minister stated this at a media briefing held in Colombo today (21) about the possible salary cuts of public servants.

The Minister also emphasized that the people's representatives and the Members of Parliament are making donations to the COVID-19 fund in the face of this financial crisis.

Meanwhile, Minister Gunawardena said that donations are welcome from all those who can make such donations locally and abroad, adding that this could provide some relief to those who have been severely affected by the country being under lockdown.
