Wanted criminal gang leader gunned down by STF

COLOMBO (News 1st); A criminal wanted for multiple crimes was gunned down by the Police Special Task Force early morning on Sunday (18) on Baseline Road, Seeduwa.

Police Spokesperson Senior DIG Ajith Rohana said the Police Special Task Force personnel were compelled to use firearms during a search of a vehicle which they had been following.

The victim was identified as infamous criminal gang leader Lalith Wasantha Pinto, wanted for 06 murders, multiple robberies and abductions.
