COLOMBO (News 1st): The Divisional Crime Detective Bureau of Galle has launched investigations into the theft of 30 Sinopharm vaccine doses in the Habaraduwa MOH division, Sri Lanka Police said.
The Habaraduwa Medical Officer of Health has lodged a complaint against the driver and a minor employee of the Habaraduwa MOH office for stealing 30 doses of the Sinopharm vaccine, Police Spokesperson DIG Ajith Rohana told News 1st on Thursday (Jun. 17).
According to the Deputy Police Chief, the vaccines are valued at Rs. 90,000 as per the complaint.
Thereby, Habaraduwa OIC has launched investigations, while the Senior Superintendent of Galle has also deployed a special team to conduct further investigations into the theft.
The officers of the Galle Divisional Crime Detective Bureau have been deployed to record statements in respect of the incident.
