COLOMBO (News 1st); Sri Lanka's Opposition Leader Sajith Premadasa has called on the entire government to resign as opposed to the ruling party calling on its own minister to step down over the fuel price hike.

"The SLPP General Secretary has made a disgraceful attempt to place the blame on one person for the decision made to further inconvenience the people," stressed the Opposition Leader in a statement.

He said the statement by the SLPP General Secretary is amusing to the fact that is appears the SLPP General Secretary is unaware that it is his own party that is ruling the country.

He called on the government to resign and hand over the task of building the country to a more capable group.
