Sri Lanka suspends passenger arrivals from 21st to 31st May

COLOMBO (News 1st); Sri Lanka’s Civil Aviation Authority on Wednesday (19) said it will not allow the disembarking of passengers into Sri Lanka with effect from 11:59 PM on 21st May 2021 to 11:59 PM on 31st May 2021.

This measure was taken with a view to controlling the COVID-19 situation in the island nation.

However, the following will be permitted during the said period;

01. Aircraft Departures with passengers originating from BIA/MRIA

02. Aircraft emergency diversions to BIA / MRIA

03. Freighter Operations and Humanitarian flights to BIA / MRIA

04. Technical landings at BIA /MRIA

05. Inbound ferry flights (without passengers) at BIA /MRIA

06. Passengers transiting at BIA / HRIA for less than 12 hours with a confirmed ticket destined to an onward destination.
