COLOMBO (News 1st): All surgeries scheduled at the Colombo National Hospital have been cancelled given the rapid increase in the rate of COVID-19 cases, the Hospital Chief said.

Emergency surgeries will be performed; services of the Outpatient Department (OPD), Emergency Treatment Unit (ETI), Cardiology Unit, and Department of Neurosurgery are continuing, as usual, Dr. Kumara Wickramasinghe, the Director at the Colombo National Hospital told News 1st on Wednesday (May 12).

Commenting on COVID-19 cases, Dr. Kumara Wickramasinghe said if any COVID-19 patient is brought in, such patients would be admitted to two separate wards for treatment.
