Inter-provincial bus services suspended; decision on railway operations today (11)

COLOMBO (News 1st): All inter-provincial bus services were temporarily suspended with effect from midnight on Monday (May 10), Sri Lanka Transport Board (SLTB) said. The decision to suspend inter-provincial bus services was reached taking into account the restrictions of movement imposed between provinces on Monday (10), Panduka Swarnahansa, the Deputy General Manager of the SLTB told News 1st on Tuesday (May 11). "However, few buses will operate to provide transport facilities for government employees and others engaged in essential services to report to work in main cities such as Colombo," Panduka Swarnahansa added. In the meantime, a decision on the suspension of long-distance railway operations will be reached today (11), Gamini Seneviratne, the Deputy General Manager of Railways told News 1st.
