COLOMBO (News1st): India's Minister of Defence Rajnath Singh, who arrived in Sri Lanka yesterday (8) , met President Anura Kumara Dissanayake this morning.
In a post on his official X account, Indian Defence Minister Singh said he conveyed greetings to President Dissanayake from Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and further extended felicitations on successful completion of two years of President Dissanayake's government.
He said India and Sri Lanka, as “civilisational twins, close neighbours and maritime partners,” will continue to work together for the development of both countries and the welfare of their peoples.
Visiting Indian Defence Minister further reaffirmed India and Sri Lanka’s commitment to jointly promoting the safety, security, peace and prosperity of the region.
