Time allocated for Port City bill debate is insufficient -Opposition-

COLOMBO (News 1st): The opposition continues to raise concerns over the government's decision to debate the Port City Economic Commission bill on only one day. "This is a bill that is worthy of studying before the debate. But why is the debate taken up on the 5th? Why is it only taken up on one day?" said Samagi Jana Balawegaya parliamentarian Harshana Rajakaruna. He requested the government to allocate additional days for the bill to be debated in parliament. "Shouldn't the people of this country get to know when the geographical map of this country is subjected to change?" questioned Samagi Jana Balawegaya parliamentarian Ashok Abeysinghe. "They are trying to pass this in one day." he added.
