Facebook, WhatsApp and Instagram back after brief outage

Facebook as well as the platforms owned by the social networking giant including the instant messaging app WhatsApp and photo-sharing platform Instagram are back after a brief outage.

The services went down for several users across the world. According to Downdetector website, the issue started some time around 10.40 pm IST. Downdetector tracks outages by collating status reports from a series of sources, including user-submitted errors on its platform.
