Colombo (News 1st); Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan invited Sri Lankan businesses to be involved in the China–Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) project, which is part of China's Belt and Road initiative. Speaking at the Pakistan Sri Lanka Trade and Investment Conference 2021 in Colombo, the Pakistan Prime Minister said CPEC open the opportunity for Sri Lankan businesses to venture into Central Asia. "It gives you an opportunity of connecting from Gwadar Port to Uzbekistan and Central Asia," he said adding this connectivity offered by Pakistan with Special Economic Zones inside CPEC. "The reason behind backing up business, the business community, and investment is to create wealth and alleviate poverty", said the visiting Prime Minister. PM Khan said one needs political stability to create wealth in any country, adding it can only be done by having a good relationship with the neighbors. The only way to get people out of poverty is to improve trade with relationships, said the Pakistan Prime Minister. [embed]https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5I7b8kAgWsI&t=3s[/embed]
