COLOMBO (News1st): Religious leaders have expressed concerns on delays in publicizing the report of the presidential commission that probed the 2019 April 21st attacks. "We have our reservations as to whether they are attempting to strain and filter the contents of the report before it is given to us," His Eminence J. Vincent, the Chairman of the Catholic Bishops Conference said. Ven. Prof. Medagoda Abayatissa Thero, said he requests the government to compile a report that would unearth facts that have not been revealed in the commission's report. "Do not accept this report with open arms," he added. Ven. Medille Panyaloka Thero, the general secretary of the Sinhale Organization observed that the report has ultimately called for national organizations and buddhist organizations. "Publicise this report immediately. Not doing so will result in a social unrest because certain factions will cling onto selected excerpts and distort them," Ven. Panyaloka Thero noted.
