Colombo (News 1st); Sri Lanka Police issued a strong warning against Valentine’s Day Scams, which would generate via a social media message.
“You may receive a message on social media platforms stating you or your partner had won a gift in respect of Valentine’s Day, and you will urged to make a monetary deposit to obtain the gift, “warned Deputy Police Chief Ajith Rohana.
A white-collar criminal gang is targeting unsuspecting Valentine’s Day celebrators, to relieve them of them money, he warned.
Sri Lanka Police urged the general public not to fall victim to such scams, which take place via social media platforms.
