Committee to decide burial of COVID-19 deceased : Sudarshani

COLOMBO (News1st): The decision on permitting the burial of individuals who die of COVID-19 will have to be decided by an expert committee, the state minister of COVID disease control noted. "Decisions at the health ministry are not taken personally. These decisions are made through a technical committee," Sudarshani Fernandopulle said, responding to query in Parliament. Opposition lawmaker Mujibur Rahman questioned when a gazette would be issued permitting burials. "Yesterday, the Prime Minister said that burials would be allowed in the country," the Samagi Jana Balawegaya parliamentarian pointed out.
